Florida Retirement System (FRS), provides Miami-Dade County employees with a disability retirement benefit should they become totally and permanently disabled. These benefits are provided after an employee has completed eight (8) years of creditable service. Employees who become disabled in the line of duty may become eligible for disability benefits regardless of their length of service.
Many of the retirement forms are available online through the FRS web site, below are the forms applicable to employees electing to retire due to a disability.
