BIKE305 Connecting Communities

Bike to Work Day

Make plans on April 3 to ride alongside Mayor Carlos Gimenez, community leaders and other bicycling enthusiasts as part of Bike To Work Day. The event is aimed at getting people out of the gridlock and into a whole new commuting lifestyle. So make your way to the South Miami Metrorail station by 7:30 a.m. and you'll be met with free refreshments as you connect with others who share your desire for better mobility. Arrive on your bicycles and get a free Bike305 T-shirt! Once there, finish your commute on the train or join the peloton headed Downtown. Don't forget your helmet!

Heat Cycle for Safety

Join the Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra for a 4.5 mile community bike ride on Saturday, April 5 at 9 a.m. Participants must pre-register before April 2.

Welcome to the BIKE305 movement championing health, wellness and fun through cycling!

The bike pathways and trails throughout southeastern Miami-Dade County featured here on are the first of many to come that will reach and positively impact all the residents of Miami-Dade County and its regions.  They provide a great way for County residents to explore and enjoy parks, events and attractions, as well as visit surrounding communities, because they are safe and comfortable environments for bike riding and even walking.

BIKE305 is another great example of how the Miami-Dade County Parks and Open Space Master Plan continues to make strides in developing a more livable, healthy and sustainable Miami-Dade community. is your one-stop-shop for all things cycling related in Miami!  Check out the Events Calendar regularly throughout the year to see what’s happening on the bike scene throughout Miami, and be ready to celebrate the BIKE305 Season of special events with us, annually, every March!

BIKE305 was forged by Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez in partnership with City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado; Village of Key Biscayne Mayor Frank Caplan; City of Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason; Village of Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner; Village of Palmetto Bay Mayor Shelley Stanczyk; and Town of Cutler Bay Mayor Ed MacDougall.  The mayors have united to support the connectivity of people and places through the County’s bike pathways, and to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness through physical activity, including cycling.

On March 5, 2013, the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed the month of March, and every March thereafter, as “BIKE305 Month” in Miami-Dade County.  Every year, spring marks the start of the BIKE305 Season, when a slew of events take place to celebrate cycling and to encourage all residents to ride bikes for physical fitness and fun.
