Daniel T. Wall - Director

Office of Grants Coordination

Daniel T. Wall is the first Director of the Office of Grants Coordination (OGC) a County department that was created in 2008. The department provides an integral role in leading and supporting efforts to County agencies in seeking revenue maximizing and funding opportunities from Federal, State and local sources.

OGC is also charged with helping to ensure the best use of County funding distributed to a vast network of community-based organizations (CBOs) by standardizing the practices and procedures involved in contracting, providing technical assistance and evaluating CBO performance.

Mr. Wall is a veteran of county government with more than 19 years of senior-level experience that began when he was selected to participate in the County Manager's Management Trainee Program. During his early tenure with the County, Mr. Wall helped to secure more than $130 million in federal funds for a grant program that became a nationally recognized model for administration and fiscal management.

That program, now known in the County as the Ryan White Program, continues to successfully draw down millions in federal funds from the Department of Health and Human Services for health care and social service needs of people living with HIV and their families in Miami-Dade County.

In addition, Mr. Wall authored the ordinance that officially established the Miami-Dade HIV/AIDS Partnership, the County planning board for HIV/AIDS.

Since 2003, he has been instrumental in leading a revenue maximization and grants coordination team in the development of a wide range of grant applications and proposals that have helped to secure more than $178 million in funding to Miami-Dade County.

Most recently, Mr. Wall helped spearhead a collaborative effort involving the County, the City of Miami and several local non-profit organizations to secure a 3-year, $1.5 million award from the national Compassion Capital Fund helping faith-based and community organizations throughout Miami-Dade County with grant awards of up to $20,000 that can be used for capacity-building activities.

Additionally, Mr. Wall has been involved in conducting free community workshops for local non-profits on topics including grant writing, grants management, strategic planning, and capacity-building.

Mr. Wall is a graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Public Affairs and a Masters in Public Administration.
