    Alina Tejeda Hudak
    Assistant County Manager

    Alina Tejeda Hudak is an Assistant County Manager responsible for the effective management of Miami-Dade County government and its more than 30,000 employees. Ms. Hudak is a 24-year professional who has experienced substantial success in her public service.  At the age of 33, she was the first Hispanic female ever to be appointed to the position of Assistant County Manager and has since continued to serve as one of the highest ranking female executives for Miami-Dade County government.  She was also the first woman ever appointed Director of a large operational department when she served as Director of the General Services Administration Department.

    Ms. Hudak has provided leadership to the County's United Way campaign and has served as the County's logistical lead to numerous special events including three Super Bowls, five National Championship parades, Olympic Soccer, the Volvo Cup Ocean Race, the NASDAQ-100 Open Tennis Tournament, the County Annual Employee Picnic, and the Salute our Troops Event 2004.

    Ms. Hudak began her career with Miami-Dade County in 1984 as a Management Trainee. Upon completion of this program, she was selected to serve as the County Manager's liaison with the South Florida Employment and Training Consortium and became Executive Assistant to Assistant County Manager Tony Ojeda.  In 1993, she was appointed Assistant County Manager and in 1996 she was appointed Director of the General Services Administration Department.  There she was responsible for the direct supervision, administration and management of seven divisions and over 800 employees.

    In 1998, she returned to the County Manager's Office as an Assistant County Manager.  During her tenure in the Manager's Office, she highlights as accomplishments the creation of the County's citizen outreach component, Team Metro, years of work on Procurement reform which led to the creation of the Department of Procurement Management Department, and her work to ensure a successful presidential election in 2004 and 2008.

    Ms. Hudak has been actively involved in a variety of community organizations over the years, including the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).  As a member of the ASPA Board of Directors, Ms. Hudak developed and coordinated "Local Government: CloseUP," a program designed to familiarize students of the public school system magnet programs with the inner workings of county government.  She served as President of ASPA's local chapter, and was elected to ASPA's National Council.  She has also served on the Board of Directors of the United Way and is a past member of the Junior League of Miami's Community Council.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Miami Alumni Association. 

    Ms. Hudak holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Political Science, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Miami.  She and her husband are the proud parents of two daughters.

    Ms. Hudak currently oversees all of the County's public safety functions.
