Lazaro Solis, C.F.A. - Property Appraiser
Raised in Miami-Dade County, Lazaro Solis graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration. In 2005, he became a Florida Certified Evaluator and most recently a Florida Certified Appraiser.
Professionally, Mr. Solis has served the residents of Miami-Dade County for over 26 years, having worked in several areas of County government. In 2005, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Property Appraiser. As Assistant Property Appraiser he was responsible for overseeing the office’s $30 million budget, ensuring the office complied with relevant Florida statutes and regulations and coordinating with Miami-Dade County’s taxing authorities. In 2008, Miami-Dade voters opted to have the duties of Property Appraiser held by an elected official and in 2009, Mr. Solis was appointed Deputy Property Appraiser.
On February 3, 2014, Mr. Solis was sworn-in as the Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County. As Property Appraiser, he is responsible for the largest tax roll in the State of Florida, consisting of nearly 1 million properties and a population of more than 2.5 million residents.
