The final budget hearing will be held today at 5:01 p.m. at the Stephen P. Clark Center. Special provisions are being made as follows:
Security
There will be a security desk at each elevator bank to restrict non-County employees from going upstairs and the stairwells will be locked at 9 pm as usual. Employees are reminded to display their County I.D. Badge at all times in order to access the upper floors, which will be closed to the public.
Attendance
The 18th floor conference rooms will be set up as an overflow area for staff only. Monitors will be televising the budget hearing and the rooms will have wireless connection to the County network. County I.D. Badge is required at all times in order to access the upper floors.
Food Court
The Bottega Grill Café on the ground floor of the Stephen P. Clark Center will have pre-made salads and sandwiches available for purchase and will be selling coffee and pastries for as long as there are patrons.
Parking
The Miami-Dade Cultural Center parking garage located at 50 NW 2nd Avenue, the Hickman Garage located at 270 NW 2nd Street, the North surface lot located at 111 NW 3rd Street, the West surface lot located at 201 NW 2nd Avenue, and the 140 Parking Garage, located at 140 West Flagler Street will all be available for parking for the budget hearings. Access for departmental staff and the public will begin at 4:45 p.m. each evening. Each facility will be staffed by security and locked for the evening, one hour after the official end of the hearing.
Transit
Miami-Dade Transit will extend Metrorail and Metromover service if the budget hearing ends after normal operating hours (after midnight). Metrorail parking facilities also will remain open. Miami-Dade Transit will have a northbound and southbound train waiting at the Government Center Station to provide service after adjournment of the budget hearing. It is recommended that the public proceed to the Government Center Station platform immediately following the hearing.
