Building Better Communities Moves to Next Phase

Now in its sixth year, the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program is moving into a new phase. The County sold the remaining 2008 Series Bonds in the amount of $203.8 million generating approximately $200.3 million for projects over the next year.  Coupled with the bonds sold last year, the County has now sold the entire $350 million in Series 2008 bonds authorized by the Board of County Commissioners.  These funds are earmarked to fund a new roster of 270 projects as approved by voters in the 2004 bond referendum. The new Annual Report provides an update on the bond program highlighting both completed projects, and those now underway, at hundreds of worksites throughout the community.
