Museum Park Design To Enhance Downtown Waterfront

A partnership between the County and City of Miami, along with three museums, is moving forward to create a Museum Park new waterfront park and museum complex on approximately 30-acre site at downtown Miami's Bicentennial Park.  Now in design stage, Museum Park will become home to the new Miami Art Museum and Miami Science Museum /Historical Museum of Southern Florida buildings.

The park includes large areas of green space and other sections designated for leisure activities. The museums have selected teams of internationally acclaimed architects to design the buildings that will be integrated into the park setting.  Construction of this multi-phase project is expected to begin in 2009 with an anticipated 2012 completion date. This project is supported in part by GOB funding.

Total GOB Funding….$275 million
