Plan ahead - the deadline to apply to take an examination takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks prior to the exam date.
Examinations for certificates of competency and eligibility are offered once a month. The exams are open book and the required books for each exam category can be obtained by contacting Gainsville Independent Testing Services, LLC at 1-800-997-2129.
Exams are offered in English or Spanish and special accommodations can be made for those who have disabilities.
On the day of the exam our exam provider will assign you a Personal Identification Number which you can use to access their dial-in examination results system. After taking one of our examinations, it generally takes 3 more days before your score is posted.
Generally, two (2) weeks after the exam you will receive a grading report from the exam provider (Gainesville Independent Testing Service, LLC) indicating your grade. If you passed the exam, you must come in the office between the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday thru Thursday to pick up you license card. If you are not satisfied with your exam score you may request a review from the Examination Company, there is a small fee associated with the review.
