Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and Commissioner Rebeca Sosa to launch the Miami-Dade Green Business Certification and Commercial Rebate Programs

La Loggia Ristorante to be issued the FIRST Miami-Dade Green Business Certification Decal

(MIAMI, April 12, 2012) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and Commissioner Rebeca Sosa will officially kick-off the Miami-Dade Green Business Certification and Commercial Rebate programs on Friday, April 20, 2012, at La Loggia Ristorante, 68 West Flagler Street, in Downtown Miami, at 10:30 am.

With $1 million in federal funds available through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, $10,000 in rebates are available to local businesses for the purchase of certain ENERGY STAR® appliances and equipment. Rebates are available to Miami-Dade businesses by applying to become certified through the Green Business Certification Program, which has been developed to help local businesses to maximize their social, ecological and financial performance.

The programs will kick-off by issuing the County’s first Green Business Certification decal to La Loggia Ristorante. In addition, La Loggia is the first business to participate in the commercial rebate program, receiving $10,000 in rebates for the replacement of old and inefficient freezers and a food warmer.
