Miami-Dade County to be recognized by the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) for achieving "Gold" Green Government Certification

Miami-Dade achieved highest score of any local government in the State of Florida to date


(MIAMI, December 3, 2012) – Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, the Board of County Commissioners, County staff and representatives of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools will be recognized by the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) for demonstrating sustainability through County policies and programs by receiving the FGBC Green Local Government Designation at the Tuesday, December 4, 2012 Board meeting, Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 111 NW 1st Street, at 9:30 am. With an outstanding score of 57 percent, Miami-Dade earned a GOLD rating and achieved the highest score of any local government in the State of Florida to date.
