Strong Tree Roots in the Nursery and Landscape


(MIAMI, September 4, 2013) – Miami-Dade County’s Cooperative Extension in partnership with the University of Florida/IFAS Extension Office is offering a unique opportunity to learn and ask experts the right question about trees, maintenance, and their proper anchorage for your horticultural business success. This program is offered every 2 years, a unique opportunity businesses should not miss. Participants will learn about, root problems, anchorage, grading, inspection issues, trees in the nursery and landscape, and provided hands-on time with 25 samples or more to work with.

The 2013 Workshop’s main speaker is Dr. Ed Gilman from the University of Florida/IFAS Extension in Miami-Dade. Dr. Gilman has assembled a unique urban tree teaching program for helping municipalities, contractors, arborists, educators, growers, landscapers, and others design and implement programs for promoting better tree health in cities. Those working in the Green industry are invited to attend. Attendee’s may apply and receive CEU credits.
