Extension hosting a class on the Nine Principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping


(MIAMI, February 19, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension’ Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Program will host a FREE class on the Nine Principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping.  This class will be held Monday, February 24, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Kendall Branch Library located at 9101 SW 97 Avenue, Miami, Florida.

Class participants will learn about the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping, low maintenance - drought tolerant Florida -Friendly plants that will thrive in South Florida yards.  Participants will have an opportunity to exchange their old shower head and light bulbs (bring your old shower head and light bulbs).  Class funding was made possible through a partnership with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department.

The class will be conducted by Laura Vasquez, UF/IFAS Miami-Dade County Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Coordinator.
