UF/IFAS Miami-Dade County Extension to host For-Hire Fishing Workshop

(MIAMI, October 6, 2014) – Miami-Dade County’s Cooperative Extension Service is hosting a “For-Hire Fishing Workshop” for new or existing captains in the southeast Florida for-hire fishing industry on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Deering Estate at Cutler, Exhibit Room. This Workshop is a great opportunity to help you connect with experts in your community, stay up-to-date with fisheries management and research, and attain answers to the business questions and challenges that will keep you ahead of the competition.

Workshop topics will include:

• Developing a winning business plan
• Increasing market visibility
• Essentials of social media marketing
• New fisheries conservation research findings and gear
• Becoming a partner in fisheries research
