UF/IFAS Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension to host Cold Protection Workshop
(MIAMI, November 24, 2014) – Cold protection is a crucial element of growing ornamentals, tropical fruit and vegetables successfully in South Florida. Cold fronts can do major damage to crops if you do not have a cold protection plan in place. The Cold Protection Workshop will outline predictions for the coming winter from Robert Molleda of the National Weather Service, as well as techniques to help growers protect sensitive crops.
This free workshop is targeted towards commercial growers, but home gardeners are welcome to attend.
The workshop will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center Auditorium (Extension Office) located at 18710 SW 288 Street, Homestead, Florida 33030.
