Miami-Dade County Consumer Protection will host a free Small Claims Court Clinic at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center
(MIAMI, December 3, 2014) – The Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), Office of Consumer Protection will host a FREE Small Claims Court Clinic on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. The upcoming Small Claims Clinic will be held at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center promptly at 12 Noontime. Participants will receive hands-on instructions and assistance in learning how to file a claim in Small Claims Court.
Educating the public in the small claims court process is spearheaded by the department’s Office of Consumer Protection Division Consumer Advocate, Ms. Holly Beth Billington. Participants will be provided with an overview of the mechanics for filing a claim in the County’s Small Claims Court as well as learn the process, methods for filing these court documents. At the end of the session, participants will be allotted time for a “Q & A.”
The County’s small claims court process is utilized by individuals that seek to address disputes involving $5,000 or less without the costly burden of having to hire an attorney to seek redress.
