Top Complaint Categories for First Quarter of 2012


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Investigative Analysts at the Business Affairs and Consumer Protection Division of the Sustainability, Planning, and Economic Enhancement Department have been extremely occupied mediating consumer complaints in Miami-Dade County. So far this year, the mediation center has assisted 874 consumers and recovered $309,682 in the form of money, goods and/or services.

Investigative analysts at the department work on behalf of consumers who have disputes with businesses to obtain refunds for services not rendered or defective goods sold. Consumers who use the department’s mediation services rely on in-house experts to reach a positive resolution with businesses.

Consumers who use the department’s mediation services rely on in-house experts to reach a positive resolution with businesses.  To register a complaint or receive general information on consumer issues, log on to the Miami-Dade County Business Affairs and Consumer Protection website, formerly the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department.  While the department name has changed, the mission remains the same; ensuring an equitable and fair marketplace for both businesses and consumers by providing them with the tools necessary to help them succeed.
