County Agricultural Manager to host Value Added Agriculture & Agri-Tourism Opportunities Workshop

(MIAMI, May 9, 2012) – Miami-Dade County Agricultural Manager Charles LaPradd will host a Value Added Agriculture & Agri-tourism Opportunities Workshop on Thursday, May 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center Auditorium, 18710 SW 288 Street in Homestead, Florida.

Changes to County Codes and State Statutes provide greater opportunity to agricultural operations to produce value added products, have ancillary uses and provide Agri-tourism opportunities to the public.

A workshop to explain new changes to the law, as well as providing information regarding the permits, licenses and approvals needed to establish these uses will be provided. County and state staff from departments relevant to this issue will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
