Extension to host Hurricane Preparedness Workshop


(MIAMI, May 11, 2012) – Hurricane Season is around the corner and The Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Division wants to ensure that you’re prepared.  Extension is hosting a Hurricane Preparedness Workshop on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the John D. Campbell Agricultural Center, 18710 SW 288 Street in Homestead, Florida.
 
The objective of the workshop is to educate the public on the principles of correct pruning and planting, root manipulation, hazard tree assessment, and chain saw safety.  In addition, Meteorologist Dan Gregoria who is the Lead Forecaster for the National Weather Service will share his projections for the 2012 Hurricane Season.
