Small Business Development to host Bond Workshop


(MIAMI, July 5, 2012) – Small Business Development (SBD) under the Business Affairs Division of the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) will host a Surety Bond Workshop on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Stephen P. Clark Center in Downtown, Miami. 

A Surety Bond is an agreement between a surety company and the owner of a project that a contract will be completed. Most public construction contracts and some private projects require surety bonds which are provided through third party bond providers.

The workshop is being conducted to provide information to contractors and subcontractors about the bond application process. Attendees will receive valuable information on obtaining bonds and improving bonding capacity. 

Topics to be covered include the following: 

Immediately following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet with Surety Bond Agents to address their personal bonding needs.
