Extension to host Irrigation Management Workshop


(MIAMI, July 17, 2012) – The Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension is hosting a workshop on Monday, July 23, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, located at 3071 S.W. 38th Avenue.

The workshop will focus on “Efficient Irrigation” and will showcase the best management practices contractors can utilize to improve their business as well as their clients’ irrigation system. 

Efficient irrigation systems save water and money leading to more attractive and healthier landscapes.   Contractors can learn the ins and outs of efficient irrigation, including how to implement this practice as a selling point for their business.  In addition, vendors will be on site to demonstrate their newest technologies for irrigation and water conservation.  The following vendors will be in attendance:  Hunter Industries, Hoover Pumping Systems, The Toro Company, and Florida Water Management Products. This workshop will also be helpful for homeowners who want to upgrade their own irrigation systems.
