Taxicab Advisory Group seeking five new members

(MIAMI, February 25, 2013) – The For-Hire Transportation of Miami-Dade County is seeking five (5) new members to join its Taxicab Advisory Group (TAG) and provide input to the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) on various issues relating to the taxicab industry.
 
The first two vacancies are open to taxicab chauffeurs who are owner-drivers. The third vacancy is to be filled by a for-hire taxicab medallion holder who is NOT an owner-driver chauffeur. The fourth vacancy is open to a taxi chauffeur who does not have an interest in a taxi medallion, and the fifth vacancy is open to a principal of a taxicab passenger service company.

The TAG is comprised of consumer and industry representatives, transportation-related interests, municipalities and public interest organizations. Duties include developing, implementing and evaluating new innovative services, service expansion and improvements through discussions with the department, which then studies the feasibility of recommendations.
