Florida Friendly Herb & Vegetable Gardening Class on low water & maintenance proficient herbs


(MIAMI, April 8, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Program is hosting a FREE Florida Friendly Herb & Vegetable Gardening Class on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Miami Library located at 6000 Sunset Drive, South Miami, Florida.

Class participants will learn about low water – low maintenance Florida Friendly herbs and various vegetables that will thrive in South Florida yards. Free herb and vegetable plants will be available for participants. Shower head and light bulb exchange will also be available (please bring your old shower head and light bulbs for this exchange).  This class was made possible with the funding from Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department.

Miami-Dade County Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Extension Agent Guillermo Salazar will conduct this class in collaboration with Miami-Dade County’s Master Gardener volunteers.
