Learn the ABCs of opening a business in Miami-Dade County


(MIAMI, May 29, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan is hosting a FREE workshop on the ABCs of Opening a Business on Thursday, June 13th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the North Dade Regional Library located at 2455 NW 183rd Street, in Miami Gardens.

The small business workshop initiative spearheaded by Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez was launched in 2012, in an effort to promote economic growth and development in Miami-Dade County. Workshops have been held at various sites across the County.

During the upcoming workshop, participants will learn the ABCs of opening a business, including how to obtain a Certificate of Use, a Local Business Tax receipt, a Home Business License, and Permits and Registration as well as essential insurance coverage for small businesses. 

County staff will be available to answer questions and share their expertise on the necessary tools to start and operate a successful business.
