Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension hosts a Florida Friendly Native Plants Class


(MIAMI, August 7, 2013) – Miami-Dade County’s Cooperative Extension Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Program will host a FREE Florida Friendly Native Plant Class on Thursday, August 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Central Library Branch located at 9590 NW 27 Avenue, Miami, FL 33147.

Workshop participants will learn about the most beautiful Florida Friendly native plants that thrive in South Florida yards. A selected group of free Florida friendly plants will be available to participants. There will be a shower head and light bulb exchange. (Please bring your old shower head and light bulbs to exchange). This workshop is made possible through funding from Miami-Dade’s Water and Sewer Department.

County Extension Agent Guillermo Salazar in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Master Gardener volunteers will teach the workshop.
