    Miami-Dade Community Action Agency (CAA) is a part of the County’s core social service departments. CAA is committed to delivering excellence by providing services that assist low-income individuals and families to gain self-sufficiency and economic independence, through a comprehensive list of programs that address a number of needs.     SUMMER MEALS DISTRIBUTION SITES

    Communtiy Action Agency is currently providing meals to children up the the age of 18 through the Summer Meals Program.  The program will operate from June 8 through July 31, 2009 at various loctions throughout the County.

    UTILITY ASSISTANCE NOW AVAILABLE

    Miami Dade County Community Action Agency’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is currently assisting income eligible residents with payment of their gas and/or electric bill.  Applications for LIHEAP will be available beginning Monday, February 9, 2009 at  CAA Service Centers . Applications are also available onlinePDF .  For additional information on LIHEAP and other programs available through CAA, contact us at 786-469-4600 or by dialing 311 from any phone.

     

     

    Free Childcare Available NOW
    Miami Dade County Community Action Agency’s Head Start/Early Head Start Program is accepting applications for FREE CHILDCARE for children ages three (3) and four (4) years old to participate in the 2009-2010 program year. To be eligible, children must be at least three years of age on or before September 1, 2009.

    WEATHERIZATION SERVICES AVAILABLE

    Miami Dade County Community Action Agency’s Energy Programs Division has services available to assist homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient. For information on these programs, visit our display in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clarke Center or here on on the Energy Programs Portal .  For additional information on other programs available through our Energy Programs Division contact us at 786-469-4730 or by dialing 311 from any phone.

     

    Head Start/Early Head Start 2008-09 School Calendar NOW AVAILABLE
    Parents with children enrolled in the Head Start or Early Head Start Program may download the 2008-09 School Calendar which provides a listing of observed holidays, teacher's workdays and other important dates for parents:

    Civil Rights Restoration Workshops
    CAA and the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office are holding Civil Rights Restoration Workshops to assist individuals with felony convictions to have their civil rights restored and criminal records sealed and/or expunged.  The workshops are held each Friday at the Liberty City Neighborhood Center from 9:00am- 12:00 pm.
