The Miami-Dade Community Action Agency’s Customized Training Program offers employment training opportunities for qualified individuals.

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Community Action Agency (CAA) with funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), has developed a customized training program to assist low income individuals throughout Miami-Dade County in receiving occupational training.  The program offers training opportunities in a variety of fields including Security, Health Care, Clerical Assistance, Childcare, Network Systems and Data Communications Analysis, as well as a number of other fields that have been identified by the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation as having the highest employment gains during the current economic downturn.

The program is open to individuals who are unemployed or employed and desirous of upgrading their level of employment. To be eligible for the program individual incomes must not exceed 200% of the U.S. Poverty Guidelines. Participation in the program is limited to sixty-four participants. Individuals interested in participating in the program may apply at any CAA Community Service Center beginning on Monday, January 4, 2010. For a list of CAA Community Service Centers visit us on the web at the Miami-Dade County Portal at www.miamidade.gov/caa.

Individuals selected to participate in the program may also be eligible for additional financial assistance to help with transportation, childcare, books, uniforms, equipment, test fees, licensing and certification fees.
