2012 Charter Review Task Force
On March 8, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No.R-253-12 creating a Charter-Review Task Force.
The Task Force was charged with the following:
- review the Home Rule Charter of Miami Dade County;
- study the final report of the 2008 Charter Review Task Force;
- review amendments submitted to the voters since 2008;
- invite knowledgeable members of the community to appear;
- conduct public hearings; host regional public meetings; and
- provide written recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
The Charter Review Task Force presented their Final Recommendations Report to the Board on July 17, 2012.
Proposed Charter amendments were considered by the Board of County Commissioners
The Charter Review Task Force has presented their Final Recommendations Report. Proposed Charter amendments were considered by the Board of County Commissioners at a Special Board meeting on August 23, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., at the Stephen P. Clark Center, located at 111 N.W. 1st Street, Commission Chambers, 2nd floor.
The Charter Review Task Force has presented their Final Recommendations Report
The Final Recommendations Report and proposed Charter amendments were presented to the Board of County Commissioners at their July 17, 2012 meeting.
Charter Review Task Force held a public hearing on June 20, 2012
The Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force held a public hearing to allow for public input on their Initial Recommendations Report on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Proceedings of the Task Force will be conducted in accordance with the Government in the Sunshine Law (FS 286.011) and the Citizens' Bill of Rights of the Miami-Dade County Home Rule Charter.
