(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade County’s Charter Review Task Force will meet on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at 3 p.m. at the Main Library Auditorium located at 101 W. Flagler Street, 1st Floor, Miami. The workshop is for the discussion of municipal incorporation and annexation. It is for discussion purposes only and votes will not be taken.  Further discussion on the issue and a possible vote will take place at the next Charter Review Task Force meeting of November 20, 2007.

The Miami-Dade County Home Rule Charter was adopted in 1957 essentially becoming the "constitution" for Miami-Dade County. Section 9.08 of the Home Rule Charter requires that the Board review the Charter at least once every five-year period to determine whether or not there is a need for revision of the Charter.
