Home Rule Charter
The Miami-Dade County Home Rule Charter was adopted in 1957 -- essentially becoming the "constitution" for Miami-Dade County.
On November 3, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners considered several proposals to amend the Miami-Dade Home Rule Charter at their regularly-scheduled meeting. View webcast.

Miami-Dade County hosted a series of town hall meetings, where residents were able to ask County staff about the proposed amendments to the Home Rule Charter.
