CITT Member Biographies
Mr. Prakash Kumar is a committed community activist and a resident of Miami Beach. He is a strong advocate of Public Transportation.
Over the years, he has been active in the community serving as a volunteer to several community agencies including City of Miami Beach’s Committee on Homeless, South Florida International Press Club, International Red Cross where he is certified Instructor with the Greater Miami Chapter. He is currently an Executive Member of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party.
Mr. Kumar was a gubernatorial appointee to Local Advocacy Council, a member of the Miami Beach Tax-payer’s Association and the Washington Avenue neighborhood Association and the Collins Park Neighborhood Association. Currently, he is an active member of the MIAMI Beach Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club.
Prakash Kumar was appointed to the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust in 2011 representing Commission District 5 and he sought the nomination to help implement the People’s Transportation Plan and thus enhance the local economy. As a regular user of public transit, he has first-hand experience using the system and can offer a unique perspective on projects funded by the PTP.
