Marilyn Smith
Marilyn Smith is an Educator for Homestead Job Corp and a long time activist in the South Miami-Dade community.

She represented District 5 on the Miami-Dade Fire Board, served on Community Council 14, was Director of the Richmond Heights Resource Center and a member of the Miami-Dade Police Citizen Advisory Committee. Being a member of the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) is not the first time Ms. Smith has served as a transportation board member, having been an active member of advisory committees planning rapid transit projects in South Miami-Dade.

Ms. Smith was appointed to the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust in 2007 representing Commission District 9 and she sought the nomination to oversee the implementation of the People’s Transportation Plan and to identify, prioritize and recommend solutions to problems that directly impact transportation activities.
