The People’s Transportation Plan - 10 Years Serving the Community
On November 5, 2002, Miami-Dade County voters approved the Charter County Transportation Surtax to fund the projects in the People's Transportation Plan (PTP). The PTP is a coordinated program of transit and roadway improvements established to develop an integrated mass transportation network. It also includes improvements in the municipalities.
Significant improvements have been made to Miami-Dade County’s public transit and roadway systems through the investment of Surtax funds since the Surtax was enacted. This includes completion of the Orange Line Metrorail extension to Miami International Airport, which was funded by the Surtax.
The People’s Transportation Plan 10 Year Decade of Progress Report presents an overview of the Surtax funded transit and roadway projects. It contains information on these projects as follows:
