Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust Sponsors 2013 Transportation Summit


The Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (Transportation Trust), along with Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and the Board of County Commissioners, are sponsoring the 2013 Transportation Summit on June 6, 2013, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus’ Chapman Conference Center, located at 300 NE 2nd Avenue, in Miami.

Mayor Gimenez will deliver the Keynote address, “Visioning the future of Miami-Dade County’s Public Transportation,” at the opening session. Breakout workshops on Innovative Financing, Mode Technology, Public-Private Partnerships and Corridor Development, led by local and national experts, will occur throughout the day culminating with an interactive Community Visioning Forum. Participants in the Forum will have the opportunity to address the panel of transportation professionals and articulate their view of how the local public transportation system can be enhanced and developed.

The Transportation Showcase opens at 10:00 am and will feature a variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits focused on various areas of transportation including bus, passenger rail, STS, roadway, seaport as well as municipal shuttle buses. Participants are invited to visit the exhibits throughout the day.
