Advisory Boards and Committees - Meetings and Minutes

Advisory boards or committees are groups created by the Mayor or the Board of County Commissioners to advise or inform the decision-making process through fact-finding discussions, information gathering, and reporting.

Advisory boards or committees created pursuant to law or ordinance or otherwise established by the Mayor are subject to the Sunshine Law, even if their recommendations are non-binding.

Notably, advisory boards or committees may not be subject to the Sunshine Law if established strictly for information gathering, reporting or fact-finding activities; and the duties are strictly limited accordingly.
