To become a member of CODI a person must have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of people with disabilities. An individual must fill out an application and attend at least 2 CODI meetings. The application is given to the membership committee, which then makes recommendations to the full CODI board. If approved, the application is forwarded to a County Commissioner with an available seat. The Commissioner then appoints the person to CODI or asks for more applications from which to choose. Some Commissioners prefer to appoint a person in their district.
