Miami-Dade County has rules that regulate many items, including zoning standards, graffiti, and environmental nuisances. These laws assist in keeping neighborhoods throughout Miami-Dade County safe and enjoyable for all of their residents. The Office of Neighborhood Compliance’s job is to enforce many of these regulations, under the general categories listed to the right.
Office of Neighborhood Compliance staff has been cross-trained to address multiple Miami-Dade County code violations. This change makes Miami-Dade County more effective and responsive to your community’s needs. Additionally, weekend enforcement has now been implemented in your neighborhood; therefore, Code Compliance Officers now also conduct inspections on Saturdays.
It should be noted that some specialized codes pertaining to the environment, illegal dumping and other solid waste concerns, and unsafe structures are enforced by other Miami-Dade County entities such as the Departments of Environmental Resource Management (DERM), Solid Waste Management (SWM), Planning and Zoning (P&Z), and the Building Department. When you report violations of this type to the Office of Neighborhood Compliance, our staff will forward these specialized cases to the appropriate department for action.
