The Miami-Dade County Water Use Efficiency Program encourages Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) facilities to reduce their water consumption through the implementation of best management practices that would save water and money. Adopting cost-saving "green" practices can lower maintenance costs and at the same time help Miami-Dade achieve conservation goals. Reduction in water consumption can also help a facility save in energy costs.
The Miami-Dade County Water-Use Efficiency Program has provided free evaluations to ICI facilities over the past two years. This year we are providing ICI facilities with the opportunity to conduct the audits themselves by using the same software that we've used for the last two years: Watergy. (Download the Watergy version 3.0 Excel file)
Developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, Watergy offers the ability to conduct an audit of both water and energy for ICI facilities, and also provides facility managers with the data necessary to reduce water and energy use on their own.
Currently we are partnering with the South Florida Water Management District to develop additional tools to assist ICIs in conducting self-audits.
