    How do I bond out an inmate?

    If an inmate has bondable charges, he or she can bond out at anytime 24-7, 365 days. To find a bondsman check the yellow pages, we are not allowed to recommend or solicit for bondsman. For further information on bonding out an inmate, or to find out the bond amount on an inmate,call inmate information  786-263-7000.

    When are Fugitive Extradition hearings held?
    Fugitive Extradition hearings are held daily at 1:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, a judge will hear the case and it is the defendants opportunity to either waive extradition or to request further hearings prior to extradition.

    What is Pretrial Release?
    PTR is a process that includes several entities: the courts perform Release Own Recognizance (ROR), jail performs Promised To Appear (PTA) releases, and police agencies perform street citation releases. Bail, by cash or a bond agency is also a form of pretrial release. Pretrial Services (PTS) is a local county agency that releases persons, free of charge before their trial. The defendant then promise to appear for court.

    Once a person is released, what additional function does Pretrial Release serve?
    PTS ensures that the person comes back to court as directed so the person’s case can be disposed of properly. This is done effectively.

    Is there any other way for persons to be released before their trial?
    Yes. It is called commercial bail.

    How can I leave clothing for an inmate?

    Clothing drop offs are no longer being accepted at any facility.
    All inmates are issued Standardized Departmental Uniforms.


    How to leave money for inmate accounts?

    Cash deposits for inmates housed in any of our facilities can be made at the Pre-Trial Detention Center's Property Room or TGK at the following times:

    Cash Deposits- 7:00 a.m. X 2:00 p.m.
                                 3:00 p.m. X 10:00 p.m.
                                 11:00 p.m. X 6:00 a.m.

    Turner Guilford Knight:
                               7:00 a.m. X 2:00 p.m.  Monday-Sunday

    The address for the PTDC is: 1321 NW 13 St.
    The address for  Turner Guildford Knight is : 7000 NW 41 St.

    Inmates released from custody can pick up their property at the Pre-Trial Detention Center 24 hours a day. Inmates who have been in custody for an extended period of time may be directed to the TGK Correctional Center to pick up their property. The hours for property pick up at TGK are:

    TGK Property Pick Up- 7:00 a.m. X 2:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday

    Inmates housed by the Miami-Dade County Corrections & Rehabilitation Department are provided with uniforms and undergarments, therefore, we do not accept any clothing from the public. The only exception is in the event the individual in custody is scheduled for trial. The Pre-Trial Detention Center Property Room will accept court clothing only for individuals scheduled for trial. The inmates name must appear on the trial list maintained in the PTDC Property Room in order for this clothing to be accepted.


    How can I leave money for an inmate?

    Members of the general public who wish to deposit funds in the account of an incarcerated individual may leave cash deposits, exact change only, at the Pre-Trial Detention Center or  TGK at the following times:

    PTDC:                 7:00 a.m. X 2:00 p.m.
                                 3:00 p.m. X 10:00 p.m.
                                 11:00 p.m. X 6:00 a.m.

    Turner Guilford Knight:
                               7:00 a.m. X 2:00 p.m.  Monday-Sunday

    You can also utilize either JPay or Western Union to deposit money into an inmate’s account. You can contact these companies at the following numbers for information regarding the deposit of funds into an inmate’s account:

    For either method the inmate’s full name and a correct jail number are needed.  Western Union requires the use of a “Code City”.  Miami-Dade Correction’s Code City is “MDCCOMMISSARY”.

    What is inmate commissary?

    Inmates are allowed to order basic food and hygiene items while they are incarcerated via the Inmate Commissary. Orders are submitted on a weekly basis. The order limit is $75.00 per week.

    Inmate’s released from custody prior to receiving their commissary order must pick up their order from the Training & Treatment Center, Monday thru Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The address for the T&TC is 6950 NW 41 St. Miami, Fl. The phone number is (305)470-2886.
