For the second consecutive year, the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department surpassed the million dollar mark in obtaining refunds for consumers. Motor vehicle repair also led the list of top 20 complaints for 2008.

Price signs are going up in dry cleaning businesses throughout Miami-Dade as a result of an ordinance passed by the Board of County Commissioners in November. 

The Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Division is cautioning residents to be aware of a fungus-carrying beetle that is on its way down to Miami-Dade County and poses a serious threat to avocado trees.  Call the DPI hotline at 305-252-4360 to report infected trees.
