Non-Emergency Transportation
Providers of non-emergency transportation require a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. This service includes the transportation of persons on stretchers, using wheelchairs, or whose incapacitation makes it impractical for them to be transported by a regular carrier, and who neither need, nor expect to need medical attention en route.
These vehicles do not provide emergency transportation. The drivers must have a for-hire chauffeur registration, and the vehicles are inspected.
Note*: To download and fill out a permit and/or license application, visit the permits page and view a listing of permits and licenses separated by division.
