Special Transportation Service (STS) Vehicles

Any motor vehicle engaged in delivering special transportation services for compensation pursuant to a contract with Miami-Dade County must obtain a Special Transportation Services Certificate of Transportation. The main beneficiaries of this service are passengers with disabilities, including non-ambulatory individuals who use wheelchairs, or individuals who are eligible for Medicaid. The contract is administered by the Miami-Dade Transit Agency. The drivers of such vehicles must have a chauffeur's registration, and the vehicles must be inspected.

Note*: To download and fill out a permit and/or license application, visit the permits page and view a listing of permits and licenses separated by division.
