Business Licensing

The licensing process ensures that businesses in Miami-Dade County meet certain minimum operating standards and requirements, as prescribed by the County code, and by state and federal statutes.  The process protects consumers by ensuring that the regulated enterprises they do business with meet minimum standards. It also assures them that when consumer trust is abused, the Consumer Services Department has the authority to assist consumers and impose sanctions.

The licensing division registers and monitors the operations of the following businesses:

  • Communications Service Provider
  • Locksmiths
  • Motor Vehicle Repair
  • Motor Vehicle Title Loan
  • Movers
  • Towing
  • Vehicle Immobilization (Booting)
  • Water Remetering
