Dear Valued Customers:

The purpose of this notice is to advise you of a new service that is available from the Consumer Services Department (CSD), and to notify you of certain actual costs that will be paid by new chauffeur applicants.

Effective February 1, 2009, certain costs associated with new chauffeur applications will be paid by the applicant in addition to the existing fees for obtaining a Chauffeur's Registration and enrolling in the training class.

Each applicant for a new chauffeur registration will pay the actual cost of obtaining the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) Criminal Background Check ($24). In addition, new applicants will pay the actual cost of materials provided during training, as follows:

These fees represent the current costs to provide materials and/or services and may increase in the future.

These charges will automatically be added at the time of application to the existing fees for obtaining a Chauffeur Registration and enrolling in the training session. Please note that the costs outlined above only apply to new chauffeur applicants. They do not apply to renewal chauffeurs.

In addition, the CSD now provides notary services at a cost of $7.00 for each form that is notarized. Notary services are being offered to save our customers the time and inconvenience of leaving the CSD offices in order to have applications or forms notarized elsewhere. The fee being charged for notary services by CSD are competitive to or less than those offered in the immediate vicinity.
