Certificate of insurance with a minimum of $25,000 combined liability
Locksmith registrations with Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department (each locksmith business must employ at least one (1) certified licensed locksmith)
A one (1) year renewal fee is $300.00 and a two (2) year renewal fee is $600.00.
Cash will not be accepted. Fees can be paid by check, money order or cashiers check
made payable to the “Board of County Commissioners”. If renewing in person, the
renewal fee can be paid by credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Incomplete Applications
If the renewal application process is not completed within 60 days from the date that the application was filed with the Consumer Services Department, the application will be considered abandoned and closed and a new application and fee will be required.
A late fee of $25 per week, up to a maximum of $200, will be required for each week that the renewal application is submitted after the expiration of the current registration. The late fee is in addition to the renewal fee.
In the event of a change in ownership of a locksmith business, a new application and fee is required. Corporations that have a change of ten (10) percent or more of its ownership shall notify the Consumer Services Department of the change no later than thirty (30) days after the date of the change.
Changes in any material aspect of the locksmith business shall be provided to the Consumer Services Department in writing along with proof of the change and a $10 fee, if replacement of the registration is required, within thirty (30) days of the change.
