Initial registration fees range from $200.00 to $383.00 based on month of birth (individual owner), month of incorporation or month partnership was formed. Cash will not be accepted. Fees can be paid by check, money order or cashiers check made payable to the “Board of County Commissioners” or by credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Once the application is complete, an enforcement officer will inspect the facility to ensure that it complies with the requirements of the Miami-Dade County Code. Once the motor vehicle repair facility passes inspection, the owner(s) are authorized to repair motor vehicles.
Incomplete Applications
If the application process is not completed within sixty (60) days from the date that the application was filed with the Consumer Services Department, the application will be considered abandoned and closed and a new application and fee will be required.
In the event of a change in ownership of a motor vehicle repair facility, a new application and fee is required. Corporations that have a change of ten (10) percent or more of its ownership shall notify the Consumer Services Department of the change no later than thirty (30) days after the date of the change.
Changes in any material aspect of the motor vehicle repair facility shall be provided to the Consumer Services Department in writing along with proof of the change and a $10.00 fee, if replacement of the registration is required, within thirty (10) days of the change.
