The 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook is expected to be an active one, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climate Prediction Center. The center indicates that there is a 60-70% probability that there will be 12-16 named storms, 6-9 hurricanes and 2-5 major hurricanes. Most of the 2009 activity is expected to take place August through October, the peak months of the Atlantic hurricane season.
