November Recovery Highlights
This month, the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department Mediation Center was able to recover $86,785 for consumers in the form of monetary reimbursements, goods and/or services. The recoveries included the following:
- Merchant failed to honor the complainant's pool installation contract. After the complainant contacted our department, the contractor has taken responsibility and completed the pool installation as agreed - Value: $23,400
- Merchant failed to complete motor vehicle repairs as agreed. Once the investigative analyst contacted the merchant, the merchant performed the repairs according to the insurance estimate -Value: $6,800
- Merchant charged the consumer for long distance call that he didn't make. After the complainant contacted us, the merchant reversed the charges - Value: $6,550
