This month, the Miami-Dade County Consumer Services Department Mediation Center was able to recover $69,560 for consumers in the form of monetary reimbursements, goods, and/or services. The recoveries included the following:

• The waiving of $5,725 in parts, labor and storage fees by a motor vehicle repair facility for a consumer who was not able to retrieve her vehicle after repairs had been completed
• The complete replacement of a $3,500 bedroom set by a furniture manufacturer for a consumer who was claiming that some of the pieces were defective
• The delivery of a set of wheels valued at $2,199 by an internet retailer to a consumer who was experiencing difficulty in getting the merchandise shipped
