This month, the Miami-Dade County Consumer Services Department Mediation Center was able to recover $56,974 for consumers in the form of monetary reimbursements, goods, and/or services. The recoveries included the following:

• A refund of $3,005 to a renter involved in a security deposit dispute with a property owner.
• The cancellation of a contract valued at $4,850 between a consumer and an electrical contractor who was unlicensed.
• The repair of a consumer's vehicle, worth $1,100 in parts and labor, for damage allegedly caused by a motor vehicle repair shop while the vehicle was in the shop's care.
