(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department will host its next free Small Claims Court Clinic on Tuesday, June 16 at the C. Lawton McCall Community Center, 9617 Park Drive in Miami Shores, at 6:30 p.m. The event is designed to teach participants about the Small Claims Court process and provide hands-on help for filing their cases.
Small Claims Court is used by individuals to address disputes involving $5,000 or less, without the costly assistance of an attorney. Reservations for the clinics are not required.

The website also includes instructions in English and Spanish for filing in Small Claims Court and collecting on a judgment. In addition, legal forms are provided for free on the website and are available at the clinics for a small fee.

The Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department (CSD) investigates and mediates consumer complaints, enforces the County's consumer protection laws and business regulations, and licenses certain businesses. In addition, the department's Cooperative Extension Division provides technical assistance to commercial agricultural growers, backyard gardeners, homeowners, and manages youth and family development programs.
