Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department Gets Ready for NASCAR

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The NASCAR Championship races rev up next week at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, and the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department is setting up a temporary taxicab stand to facilitate transportation needs for fans from November 20-22. The taxicab stand will be located at the northeast corner of S.W. 336th Street and S.W. 137th Avenue in Homestead and will allow for up to five taxicabs to await passengers. In addition, code enforcement officers with the department will be on duty to ensure passengers have a safe and problem-free ride.

For taxicab drivers, a map with inbound directions to the taxicab stand for after the races is available for download on the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department's website at www.miamidade.gov/csd. This route was created in an effort to allow taxicab drivers to enter the stand once the races have ended to pick up passengers without any obstructions to outbound traffic.

The weekend schedule of events can also be found online at http://www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com/Plan-Your-Experience/Event-Schedule.aspx.

For more information on taxicab service or other consumer issues, log on to the Consumer Services Department website at www.miamidade.gov/csd or call 305-375-3677.
